White Sage (Salvia apiana)

Calming and cleansing, White Sage is traditionally used to make smudge sticks for ceremonial purposes and is widely used as a soapless shampoo and conditioning rinse by Southern California Indians. Its overwhelming popularity in popular culture is threatening its sustainability. At Birdsong Apothecary we only use White Sage from our Apothecary garden or from local growers through the Sonoma County Herb Exchange.
